Wellbeing Workshops & Countywide Learning Events

Wellbeing Workshops

The Wellbeing Workshops bring together Kent education settings and partner agencies that support children and young people’s wellbeing, with topics chosen to meet local needs. They aim to:

  • build confidence,
  • share specialist, evidence-based knowledge and practical resources from expert speakers
  • explore wellbeing topics that are impacting on your community
  • strengthen collaboration between schools and services, and provide networking opportunities

Tuesday 29th September 2026 – 9am -12pm at The Duke of York’s Royal Military School, Dover. CT 15 5EQ

This session delivered by Active Kent and Medway will showcase national evidence-based resources and county examples of where using appropriate physical activity opportunities have had a positive impact on young people’s mental health, as well as general attitudes. We are looking to teach that using the body to help your mind doesn’t just mean playing sport.

Any movement can play a fundamental role in your wellbeing. For example, you will learn how using a small amount of movement in the classroom can have significant improvements in brain function for students which can help academic performance. The workshop will also equip staff with increased confidence to have conversations with young people about physical activity and where they can signpost them to appropriate opportunities.
