All staff working with young people should have an understanding of resilience and emotional health. It is also important for staff to know what additional resources they can access to help support a young person if they engage in a conversation about emotional difficulties with them.
Supporting staff emotional health and wellbeing is also very important. If staff are sad, stressed and overwhelmed they will not be able to support the needs of others if their own needs are not being met.
